According to an existing view regarding the relationship between art and moral knowledge, for a work of art to engage sufficiently with moral issues requires similarly complex, or refined literary engagement or intention for such depictions [Gilmore (2020); 102–133]. Here, I hope to motivate a different way to think of narratives which highlight their extra-aesthetic properties regardless of the artistic intent behind the work. I will propose a sentimentalist account of moral testimony based in narrative whereby doing so, highlights the necessary relationship between moral knowledge and narrative.

There are two components of this project. Neither proceeds the other in terms of importance, nor organization. As such, any enumeration is purely arbitrary.

First, we are going to create some data. Next, we are going to perform some exploration on these data objects. Finally, using the transformed and explored data, we will compare and contrast three sentiment analysis packages, the eMFD, Morality as Cooperation, and Sentimentr.
